Despite the fact that a phone is a personal item, there may be reasons as to why you would not want someone to see the websites that you have been visiting. There are many reasons as to why you would want to delete the browsing history of your android phone. The steps involved in deleting the browsing history on your android phone vary with the type of browser installed on your android phone. There are five most popular browsers used in android.

Chrome for Android

To delete the browsing history in chrome for android, go to the menu button and select settings and navigate to the privacy option. On the privacy menu, select clear browsing data option, you will be required to select the type of data that you want to clear or to delete.

Firefox for Android

For Firefox for android, go to the menu button and select Settings and navigate to the privacy options. Select clear private data under Privacy & Security and select the types of data you want to clear. After selecting the kind of data that you want to delete, tap the Clear data button.

Dolphin Browser

Navigate to the Menu button and select Settings and choose the Privacy & Personal Data category. Choose the Clear Data option to clear your browsing history, cache, cookies, and other data on Dolphin browser. This browser makes it possible for you to browse without remembering your browsing history.

Opera Mobile

Opera mobile is another internet browser that is popular with android phone users. To clear the browsing history in the Opera browser, navigate to the Settings and select the Privacy option in the settings menu. In the Privacy menu, choose to clear data to clear your browsing history, cache, shared locations, camera permissions, and passwords. The Opera mobile browser often stores the browsing address on the Opera’s speed dial page. To prevent this browser from storing the web addresses, long-press one of the icons on the speed dial page and tap on the X button on each thumbnail you want to remove and select Done at the bottom of the screen when you’re finished removing pages from your speed dial page.

Google Search Widget

To clear the searches you perform in the Google search widget, tap on the Google search widget to start searching and from the search screen, select the Menu button and select Settings or Search Settings. Navigate to the Clear on-device search history or Clear on-device history option to clear the list of Google searches made from the widget.

The above are some of the most popular browsers used in android devices. Other than the above browsers, an android phone that contains the Android 4.0 operating system version may have built-in browser referred to as ‘Internet’. To delete the browsing history from this built-in browser, select the Menu button and select Settings. Scroll down to the Privacy settings option and clear different types of browsing data such as cache, cookie data and location access.
