How to Backup Android Phone

Using your android phone to store all your important information can be great since it is easy and quick to access the information wherever you are; nevertheless, there are some challenges that are associated with storing all your important information in your android phone. The main challenge associated with storing important information on your android phone is losing the information in the event the phone gets lost or even becomes faulty. If you like to store some of the important information such as important contacts, photos and other such information on your phone and would not want to lose the data, you need to backup your android phone.

Methods of Android Backup

So as to spread the risk of losing the data found in your android phone, you need to have more than one copy of the data backup. This way, if one backup copy fails or becomes faulty, you can use different methods to back up the information in your phone. To backup the information found in your android phone on your computer, you will need to connect your android phone to your computer using a USB cable.  Choose ‘USB connection’ on your phone then select USB Mass Storage and click OK. A new drive will appear on your computer for the SD card. Open it and copy all the files inside to a new location on your computer.  When have copied all the files on the folder in your computer, save the folder and give it a name that will be easy to remember. This can act as the first backup copy.

This method is great to backup the information found in your android phone, the only challenge associated with this method of backup is that you will be required to repeat the process every time you have some changes or some new photos or information in your android phone. So as to ensure that the new photos and information in your android phone are updated and backed up, you need to choose a method that will update more frequently to ensure you have all the most recent photos, texts, settings and everything else stored on your Android.

Using a Backup App

There are several apps that can be used to back up information contained in your android phone. Some of these apps are available for free while others are available at a fee which is affordable. Here are some of the most recommended backup apps that you can use to backup data and information contained in your android phone.

G Cloud Backup

G Cloud Backup is a free backup app that offers you 1GB cloud storage space. It also offers you back up for more than one device to a single account. If you need more storage space, you can get it through referrals or pay a certain charge so as to be allocated more space.

Helium Premium

Helium Premium is not a free app, to use this app; you need to pay a fee. This backup app works for both root and non-root users and allows you to schedule backups to go to a cloud syncing and storage service such as Google Drive, Dropbox amongst others. Helium premium has a free version but it doesn’t allow you to back up to a cloud service.

MyBackup Pro

This backup app works on both rooted and non-rooted phones.

With these apps you can easily and effectively backup information contained in your android.
